My husband charged the coach battery a couple of days ago, plus we been driving for a full day, It's fairly new. The propane detector squeals for a long time, not a pulsing sound but a continual squeal. It turned off when I turned on the light switch in the trailer.
Should we disconnect it and use a battery-powered one?
I suspect it has reached the end of its life, as it sounds like low battery likely not the problem.
Disconnecting is the only way to stop it. Yes, you can use a battery powered one. Just do not use CO/propane appliances while sleeping with no detector.
