propane tanks?

Never have both open and almost never use the furnace. What I always do however is run the refrigerator on propane. I know when I run out of propane cause the lights on the fridge start flashing. I then go out and open the full tank and get the empty refilled back at my storage facility.

One at a time ever since I didn't check the indicator often enough and found myself with two empty tanks in the wee hours of a very cold Sunday morning.

The auto-switchover works fine but sometimes my brain doesn't.

Both open. Check the green/red indicator once in a while. As soon as I see it has switched over, I fill the empty one. Flip the lever over so it points to the tank in service.

I don't know why people don't trust those valves. Never had an issue. But you do have to trust yourself to check the indicator.

Will it still switch to the other tank the tank runs out ? I haven't ran out while camping. I guess I need to play with more to to see if it works.

Always open both tanks for 30 years..... Auto change over has always worked........( 4 different campers over the years) Usually when one empty's fill it....... Never ran out of both tanks yet....... But it really does not matter personal preference but I do not understand the logic only opening one........... the indicator will tell you one tank is empty time to keep a closer eye on the other or fill the empty......

As you can see, it is personal preference. You do what YOU want to do and quit fretting over it.
