This is the problem with any LP generator I've seen, be for home, commercial or RV use. It drinks too much fuel to be effective in my opinion. I have family who just installed a LP 20KW generator, and it will empty the tank in a little over a day of power outage. That's no good. I'll always favor a traditional fuel generator until/unless the fuel efficiency of LP units improves significantly.
:h What is the tank capacity?
Yes so multiply the tank size by 10 and you are good to go.
The fuel consumption should not have been a secret before installation.
Correction, it'll run a little over 2 days fluctuating between partial and full loads using. 200 gallon tank. But I never said that fuel consumption was a secret. They knew this long before making the purchase.
In rural FL, the primary purpose of a generator like this is for power outages due to major storms (hurricanes, damaging thunderstorms). If we lose power, it could last several days. My folks lost power for 7 days during the most recent Hurricane Irma. Regular fuels (gas, diesel) remained available at virtually all times. Propane deliveries require a company that's open, a driver, and roads passable by the truck.
I stand by my original statement, that LP generator systems should not be the system of choice for home or RV use.
