Unfortunately, meth tends to damage the thought process. Rocky Mountain Power is offering a reward for information on recent thefts of copper ground wire from several substations and other facilities (including transmission towers).
Think about this - why is it that many armored car companies have an escort/guard armed with a shotgun? The truth is that most armored cars carry less than a few thousand in cash. The perception, however, is that there must be millions in them. They prepare based on perception, not reality.
While copper may not be worth as much, meth heads think it is.
I haven't heard of theft of RV power cords being a thing around here, but propane tanks have been targets.
