- allen8106ExplorerDepending on your mission you could do it in one day. It would be painful but can be done. I've done it myself and would do it again if circumstances demand it.
- Olympian_retireExploreri looking at 0500 am
- Racine96ExplorerYou didn't mention at what time on the 9th. It can make a difference. It might be a little too much.
- Me_AgainExplorer IIISo you leave the 7th and drive 8-10 hours, repeat that on the 8th and you are in Butte the afternoon of the 9th. Chris

I could no longer find the overnighting info on the Cabelas site. Call and ask if you need reassurance.
They have a dump station and a water fill station. So obviously setup for RV's.
Someone mentioned St George. We usually have lunch in St George, so as you can see we like early starts, LOL.
There is a Cracker Barrel a few miles south of Provo. Don't recall the name of the town, but we sometimes have dinner there before going the last few miles to Cabelas.
Can't help you about north of Salt Lake. We always head east on I-80. - bpoundsNomadI could no longer find the overnighting info on the Cabelas site. Call and ask if you need reassurance.

do you know of any cabela's on the 15 thats sound great
The one in Lehi UT is the one that we stay at since it opened a few years ago. I think of it as Provo, as it is just 10 miles or so north.
The Cabelas site will tell you where they are, and the store info will tell you if overnighters are welcome.

Lehi definitely welcomes overnighters.
Seems a lot of folks here are proud of how slow they travel. :) You can definitely do that drive in 2 days, if you can drive even short 10 hour days. I prefer a longer first day, and a short second day, but that's just us. And we will usually be hitting the road at 6AM, making a 6PM stop for the evening very reasonable. If I drive till 9PM, still plenty of time for a good nights rest. - bpoundsNomad

Using the 1100 miles that someone quoted, that's the same distance from LA to Casper WY. I do that trip every couple of years or so, and always do it in 2 days. First day from LA to Provo UT, and it is about a 12 hour day. We just overnight boondock, often at the Cabela's store. Second day we will be to camp in Casper by 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I tow at 65MPH maximum.
Used to do the same trip, but the speed limit was 55MPH. Still did it in two easy days, but not towing an RV.
No need to drive all night. Have done that too, but too old and wise to do that these days. - bpoundsNomadUsing the 1100 miles that someone quoted, that's the same distance from LA to Casper WY.
