Double towing is not most folks "cup of tea", however - if done correctly it's OK as well as legal.
Some fifths are OK by the mfgr for double tow - some not.
If it's legal in the state where licensed, reciprocity for travel in other states applies - - *except* for overall length.
Common for full timer's (and others) who take along a second vehicle in addition to the TV.

BTW - (to avoid double towing) lots of the HDT folks cross-load Smart Cars on their rigs, as it can be off-loaded without un-hitching their 5th - and short enough to meet width req's..:C
