You could buy a trailer coupler for straight pole tongue trailers, weld it to a short section of square tube, weld a mounting plate to the other end of the square tube, and bolt it to the bow of the boat. Then you can connect your boat to your truck's ball hitch in a conventional way and no one can fault you over it. Use some portable towing lights on the stern of the boat and you can tow at night too. :)
