Claim to have done some research...found 5vr runs 17,000#.
Where did you find that weight number?
Bought a 16,000# hitch........really should have a hitch that is rated higher than the 5vr gross weight. 17,000# should be using an 18K hitch at minimum.
Bought a 2011 GMC Sierra 3500 Crew Cab 4X4 SRW with long bed........
So what is the wet pin weight of 5vr?
What is the GVWR of 3500?
What is the Rear Axle Weight Rating of 3500?
What is the Rear Tire MAX Load Rating?
What is weight of truck..camp ready? Total and each axle weight?
What is truck/trailer weights...camp ready?
FORGET those mfg. magical published MAX TOW Ratings.....don't mean nothing but marketing hype.
You will exceed trucks GVWR, RAWR, Rear Tire Load Ratings long before you reach that magical max tow rating.
Think you should do some more research...to better match what you have (well at least so you will KNOW what you have)
Please take the time/effort to go across a set of truck scales and get weighed.
Don't be one of those.....uninformed tows fine.
