I was having problems unhitching mine sometimes. Now I have DW raising while I pull on the handle. Once the handle pulls I raise until I see the plate just come off the hitch and out I go. I haven't had a single problem since I started doing it this way.
This is the only FW hitch I have owned but I do like it. Don't forget to spray your rails.
