ditto miles... just like with anything there are keys to success !
once I discovered these few points:
1) raise until there is a bit of a gap between capture plate and hitch head
(but not so much as to lift the truck with the pin :) )
2) find the center spot where there is no forward or backward pressure on the pin
3) pull de pin !
fyi - do not use a weld on plate... will create issue if you need to leave it at the dealer and they have to move it around...
as stated in the docs be somewhat straight when hitching or unhitching - just makes it easier (iirc < 16 degrees off ?)
