Single pivot 5th wheel hitches -to the best of my knowledge- are *only* commercial hitches (on the back of a semi) for towing cargo trailers.
Tow a recreational 5th wheel with one (ex: a Binkley) and you stand a chance of tweaking the trailer frame, as the trlr is not intended to handle the stress.
A PR Superglide *is* a double pivot.

BTW - If there is something you believe is better, go for it.
Can't compare, as the SG is the only one I ever have had - w/no reason to change.
