Can a pullrite superglide 5th wheel hitch be installed and work properly in an 8 foot bed?

I requesting this because I'm getting a 1 ton dually with a 8' bed and I already have the hitch from my previous shortbed 3/4 ton. Didn't want to buy a new hitch if I didn't have to.
