Grand Design was started almost 2 years ago by some top executives from Thor/Keystone who wanted to get back to customer satisfaction and quality construction as the number one priorities instead of how many and how fast can we produce RV's.
interesting .... they are the same guys who built Keystone based on churning out campers with little concern for construction that would last much past the one year warranty .... once they did so, they sold out to Thor and were reported to have done very well financially .... it will be interesting to see if they are serious or if they have returned to their former playbook of building a franchise, selling out, and walking away with $$$$ .... frankly I hope they have changed, time will tell
Jim - ol_Bombero-JCExplorerOops, sad, cynical....double post..:p
. - ol_Bombero-JCExplorer,
- jevanbExplorerforest river needs to hire the vacuum lady from grand design.. we did look at them but they seemed to be at a much higher price point. they probably employ the same people but add a few more minutes to the drop dead time at each step of the build. I dont know where they get their sub assy`s (lippert, dexter.ect..) but these things are what most people have trouble with and their quality is not very good and brings down the builder/ manufacturing company, aka. forest river, jayco ect...

He's just jealous that his Open Range is now technically a Jayco... - lowflyExplorerI have had a couple of dealings with the factory and have found then to be very helpful, responsive, and courteous. No actors there!
- wward1674ExplorerI have been researching this brand extensively.
Looks like a great rv. - M_GO_BLUE1ExplorerAny idea what the generator option entails?
I assume it would be an Onan genset but just not sure what wattage or fuel type...
