Quad steps installed
My quad steps came and I installed them yesterday. What a differance a couple inches make. The old steps were 9 1/2 inch risers and the top step was 10 1/2 inches. The new ones are 7 inches and top step is 7 inches. My 96 year old father in law travels with us and I had to help him get up the old steps all the way. Now I can just be there to be be sure he doesn't fall. Shame on the manufactuer of my unit and shame on RVIA for allowing their approval on such a product. There is no home built in the United States that would allow such spacing of steps. Also the steps would have gone in in minutes had the maker not welded the steps in. It took hours of cutting to remove the old ones and about a half hour in drill 4 holes and BOLT in the new one. I have seen in my travels the steps all bent to h when somebody forget to put them up and drove over something. I know 4 SAE bolts and nuts cost me $4.68. Why would the manufacturer want to spend that when they can spent $0.15 for wire for a welder. Just saying. Like baby chickens, CHEEP, CHEEP CHEEP.
