- ACZLExplorerOurs has the 6 pt level up and does have some movement, but nothing we can't live with. Buddy of mine had a CC w/ the 6 pt as well and he added JT's to it. He sold the CC last year and got a MH. Our old coach (also a CC) orig didn't have the 6 pt and had a fair amount of wiggle. Added JT's to it a couple years before selling it.......what a difference.
- dpgllgExplorerI have a 4 point system and there is very little movement BUT then again it is just me, my wife and three cocker spaniels. I could see if you have children running around and doing kid stuff where you could get more movement.
I would suggest that you try the unit out first and see how it works before adding JT's or other equipment. You might be surprised how stable it is and save some money that could be used for more trips!
Good luck and enjoy your new RV!
Dave - Cummins12V98Explorer IIII added these and mine is VERY solid . My front rams have an outer tube that allows some side to side movement. That style not sold any longer. By decreasing the distance they deploy it made for a very stable RV.
- ChuckV1ExplorerI have 4 x 8 wooden blocks with eye bolts in one end to put between the ground an the levelers when needed ... I have to say that I do not use them very often because my lCI leveling system is pretty solid most of the time with very little movement ...
- LantleyNomadAuto leveling is not auto sttabilty. They are 2 different functions/requirements.
If you want stability yes you will need JT's. My rig came factory equipped with both JT's and auto leveling. - memtbExplorerIt’s more about frame stiffness/integrity! If the frame is rigid....4 are adequate. Many folks have the six-point system....and still get flex/bounce!
- Splashers3ExplorerThanks for answering this....I think dpgllg said it best in that I will have to see how my unit behaves. It sounds like I could expect the full gambit of scenarios.
Thanks, you folks did help. - tabrahaExplorerWe’ve been very pleased with the 6pt system also. Very solid. The less the legs have to telescope the more solid it is as was stated further up.
- WeBeFulltimersExplorerWill your new fiver have hydraulic or electric levelers? Mine has hydraulic and is very stable as it came from factory. Have talked with a few friends who have the electric and aren't as happy with theirs. The electric is also much slower extending and retracting.
- laknoxNomadMy new KZ has 4-point system =and= JT's, from the factory. Not too bad on just the jacks, but the JTs make a noticeable difference.
