Ordered through Fretz in Souderton. Tipping factor was the major coincidence that the owner of the dealership will be my next door neighbor at our seasonal campground. Totally random for that to have happened, but at least I know whose door to knock on when something is not going right with customer service.
Besides making sure price was competitive, using a local dealer with mostly positive reviews (nobody is perfect), and taking delivery in the "off season", I'm not sure what other odds I could have stacked...
Well you should have no problems with Fretz from a sales standpoint. I negotiated with them heavily in 2012 and ultimatly did not buy, yet the salesman I was dealing with still calls me every so often to this day, just to shoot the shitt. I know many people who purchased there and do not remember hearing anything bad.
And as far as stacking the deck in your favor, unfortunately all you can do is cross your fingers and keep stacking, even with a great dealer. The big RV manufacturers are very competent at unstacking decks (they wrote the book on it), and putting good dealers in bad positions when it comes to warranty service.
