R-Vision trail lite 2002 model 5281S 5th wheel slide out

My husband just recently purchased this unit, and we cannot find the control switch for the slide out. We have searched every nook in this unit. We spoke with the salesman and he doesn't know where it could be? He sold it as electronic slide now he texted saying its manual. Does anyone out there know where this is we are camping and can't use the slide! We called the manufacturer tech support and they can't help us???

If you say so. I know nuttin' about this; just making a suggestion. :-)

Think 27+ ft fifth wheel that only weighs 5000 lbs with a GVWR of 6550 lbs. Six sided vacuum laminated, no studs just aluminum framing around perimeter, doors and windows. It was a very solid unit when new, but costly to build.

First, I'd be talking to that salesman about what you paid for the unit as he did not give full disclosure on it. Second, if you end up keeping it, you might get another crank handle, cut it off and chuck it up in a cordless drill to make it easier to get the slide in and out.

Lyle, this slide only weighs 100 lbs total, it is just the sofa seat/back and only opens about 15 inches. It will take longer to get that cordless drill from it's storage spot than making a few turns with the manual crank.

I used a 2002 R-Vision trail lite (non fifth wheel) last summer. It was a manual slideout that you crank with a handle similar to a jack crank. The mechanism was under the couch in this trailer in the center of the slide (more or less). Look under the couch. The jack type handle needs to fit the screw mechanism there and you just turn until the slide is in/out.

X2, I had a 2001 model, manual crank under the sofa. Super ez to use and not much can go wrong with something so simple.
