Just picked up a very small (20') 5th wheel which amounts to a big TC with wheels. Can someone tell me if the emergency hatch is much of an issue when it rains? I do not have opening windows in the bunk and will have the hatch open a bit for airflow.

Are you talking about the emergency escape window? Never heard of a hatch (on the roof?) for RV's.

Window, hatch, I know what you mean.As far as rain getting in, it will. just have to watch.

Condensation would build under aluminum hatch drop on bedding and at first I thought hatch leaked. Bed would be soaked during warm rainy wx.

I'm talking about the hatch over the bed, thought most TC's had one as does our FW.

Yes it can be a problem in a heavy rain. If left open rain drips off edges of the lid and makes its way into the cab over. open a couple of inched to allow ventilation no problem.

In our bedroom it would be hard to get between the blades of the Magic Fan.

We have one of these emergency hatches over the bed. In heavy rain we can only open it very slightly or the rain bounces off the roof and gets under the lip of the hatch, landing on me when I lie in bed.

Might be better to open windows in the living area and use a battery operated fan to provide ventilation in the overhead bunk. We have a Ryobi fan from Home Depot that runs for 10 hours on the 18v Lithium battery pack. Re-Charges in an hour.

That is what I disliked about the old Lance TCs. Condensation would build under aluminum hatch drop on bedding and at first I thought hatch leaked. Bed would be soaked during warm rainy wx.

If it's just cracked you should be fine. I wouldn't open it too much though in rainy weather.
