BUT...There is something like a ghost that will "KILL" your early years Cummins Diesel. Aftermarket oil filters!! Look it up. It's up to you to do the research...debris clogs the #6 oil nozzle and it burns up the piston. Luck be a lady if you have been driving with all these years without a failure if not using Cummins oil filters.
I loved my 2002 3500 ETH/DEE (Cummins HO/NV5600 6-speed). It had the Edge EZ, Diesel Dynamics Stage 2 injectors, 4" Jardine exhaust and dynoed 347/762 at the rear wheels. It was a towing beast! I only sold it because my wife refused to tow with a 6 speed manual and insisted that I get her a truck she could drive while towing.
At one time there was a TSB released about Fram filters for this precise problem. The internal seals would come apart and plug the piston cooling nozzles in the engine. I used Fleetguard (Cummins filtration division) Stratopore oil filters exclusively in my engine and never had a problem. That's an expensive lesson to learn.
On edit: Found it! TSB 09-004-01
