- Roger10378Explorer III did mine a couple of years ago. After removing the microwave it was obvious that it only needed to have a small plate removed and repositioned to convert it to rear discharge. I then cut a hole in the wall at the correct location. I used aluminum duct tape to seal the hole and foam tape where the microwave fits to the hole. The outside vent cover was 8 or 9 dollars at my local RV dealer. You will probably need some help to lower and reinstall the microwave but other than that it is a easy job.
