what year Ram? I have "base" model 2010 3500 and factory controller was useless. My fifth specs about the same as yours and truck could only properly brake a 5000 lb trailer. Dodge dealer said I had to select for light/mid or heavy trailer. I had previously researched and since I had base model with no fancy uconnect screen that option was not there, they did not believe me until they tried themselves. They then said they could upload program, again not possible in base model. Solution, disconnect factory and install after market.
