Trailer tire issues didn't just start with imported tires.
Guess some weren't around back then but we had the same issues before the net or China ever imported trailer tires to the US and all trailer tires were made in the USA by BFG/Goodyear/Firestone/Delta/Cooper and others I've forgotten.
The problem is the ST tires design and being a niche tire mfg methods to some extent. The ST tire is what it is.
There are several China and other Asian rim country P and LT tire brands on the market that are excellent on RVs and even commercial trailers and don't have ST tire reliability issues.
I agree the design of the ST tire is deficient for heavy RV use.
