- arush19ExplorerI have a sneaking suspicion the salesman will tell you he never said that or modify his statement.

Our rear kitchen 5th wheels were all Carriage RV's and they have good shocks that limit any bouncing no matter the floor plan. Ours were from a 29' Carriage Carrilite all aluminum coach structure to the 3 axle very heavy 18,000 lb GVW 36' with 2 slides deluxe wood frame coach. Absolutely zero rear kitchen issues of things moving or drawers coming out and we often left various things on the countertops when traveling and never even worried about such a thing happening.
Yes, all 3 of the Carriage 5th wheels had full access to everything inside with the slides in including the frige, dining table and seating, couch, bathroom, and bedroom/bed. One exception allowed is that perhaps one pantry not being accessible. This is a "must" for us and lessons learned in our now 52 years of RV'ing. We simply put anything we'd want or need while traveling in a different cupboard. Problem solved an so easy. We'd never buy an RV that doesn't have full use and access inside to every needed or wanted feature with the slides in and from our long gained experiences, it also has to be a rear kitchen layout. Who wants their kitchen in their living room and in the middle of the RV occupant's traffic pattern.
My wife would tell them to GO outside if real quick if she has to compete for space or traffic when preparing meals or doing dishes. I completely agree with her as it was always an issue before buying our first rear kitchen RV!! Never an island in the kitchen blocking any access that is not very easily moveable and stored while traveling. Live, use, and learn!
Jayco Eagle 5th wheels have nice RK full use with slides in models also.
So many things to consider!! What model were the carrilites? I would like to see the floorplan for a better idea of how everything was accessible. - NodakerExplorerWe had a RK Sundance for several years. We did break the microwave glass rotating plate but padding it with a dishtowel fixed that. A little extra caution packing the rear cabinets is all that's necessary. We liked the floor plan with good counter space.
- wannavolunteerFExplorerI am on my second rear kitchen TT, only issues I have had were if I didn't pack things well. Actually the cabinet I have the biggest issues with is the one over the slide. I don't want to pack it too heavy, so I have to add paper towels to fill extra space. I do work to load my storage bays in front of trailer, so that I have sufficient tongue weight for easy towing. My grill, tool bag, outside table and chairs and I am good there.

ours is called a rear kitchen, but the refrigerator is on the side. we like this setup because if the slide s in, we still have access to everything.
Same with our Cougar. So we still have a decent sized rear picture window. - fla-gypsyExplorerMore true of a TT than a 5ver

A talk show I listen to has a feature called "Stupid or Liar?". It kind of doesn't matter which one it is.
Imagine how much weight is in the rear of a fifth wheel toy hauler. A fridge, sink, stove, etc. can't weigh more than the motorcycles and sand cars loaded inside the toy haulers. And they tow just fine.
Stupid or Liar?
I suppose that it would be a mixture of both. I would say that liars are not truly smart, if they have to resort to lying to have their way, since it will bite them at the end. It is always smarter to be truthful, as that will reap benefits in the long run. Liars can't think beyond the moment...honest people have the future in mind.
If I had to avoid lying salemen, I guess I will not be able to buy a trailer....any suggestions? - bbaker2001Explorerours is called a rear kitchen, but the refrigerator is on the side. we like this setup because if the slide s in, we still have access to everything.
