My landing gear had no way to lubricate the jack screw so I drilled a hole in the outside sleeve to oil the jack screw and bolt it runs through. I think the no lube on these screws causes a lot of break downs people have-you might also want to paint a red line on the leg near the top so you do not extend it all the way and blow a fuse or cause a gear problem. Good post form someone that needs to rebuild.
