Recommendations for small 5th wheel

I will be retiring soon and want to go wandering with the wife. Am looking at 5th wheels but want something under 30 feet ideally 20 to 25ft. Any suggestions? I have been looking but all I seem to find are very large. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Our Arctic Fox 27-5L is short (28') but not light. It grosses over 12K lbs and the newer wide-body models are even heavier.
  • We are very happy with our 25footer. But crossroads doesn't make our model any more. We zip around parking lots and gas stations and fit into many more primitive camp spots. We will do everything we can to maintain this unit because it fits us just perfect.
  • IdaD is correct, the shortest Northwood makes now is the model 27-5L. It's length is 29'6" (or close to that). They are heavier than many so you will want to pay attention to the limitations of your truck you pull it with.
  • My folks have a 25' Nash. There was an Arctic Fox version of it too - 24-5N or something like that. It's older, though - 1999 or 2000 I think. It's been a good trailer for them and they're the original owners. I don't think Northwood makes anything much under 30' these days. You might still check it out, though, as they have a great reputation and 30' is pretty reasonable to pull around.
  • Scamp makes a small (19') fifth wheel in the "fiberglass egg" fashion:

Grand Design makes a Reflection fifth wheel that's 29'4":

    Reflection 26RL

    Jayco makes one that's 28'7":

    Jayco Eagle 24.5CKTS

In fifth wheels, you're not going to find much between 20 and 25 ft. these days. What's your tow vehicle and what kind of RVing do you like to do?
