I'm slowly remembering using my 16K Reese slider and I'm thinking there is a big pin that has to be set when the hitch is in the front/towing position. I remember the pin was super hard to set at times and I use to use a rubber mallet to get it into place. With that pin set I don't see how the hitch could slide back. This was 5+ years ago though so I may be remembering the function of the pin incorrectly.
