REMINDER TO ALL: Keep a safe distance when towing

I just had a close call yesterday in Las Vegas on our way to Zion National Park. The vehicle in front of me decided to stop on the freeway for no good reason that I could see. Fortunately, I got stopped in time (barely) ... but it was a wake up call reminding me that these rigs don't stop like cars. Sometimes it's hard to maintain distances in high traffic areas because people love to cut in front of us when we leave a big space. That's what happened to me. End of PSA.

Happy and SAFE travels to everyone.

  • Good reminder. It happened to me in a construction zone when they decided to suddenly stop traffic. For having electric brakes, my Cougar stops pretty well.........
  • Towing in the northeast is always a game of being cut off and squeezed in front of, leaving space is darn near impossible at times. I try my best and tend to follow transports and try to leave 6-10 car lengths.

The worst road I've ever towed on is I90 through Massachusetts, it's a real cluster I'll tell ya!

Gotta love Las Vegas traffic- Glad this "reminder" didn't result in injuries or damage. Driving in traffic just seems to get worse and worse because as you mentioned, people seem to have a need to continually cut into the space.
