Replace Black Water Valve with full holding tank

Mine broke also I called the manufacture, mine is electric and the small screwdriver slot to open stripped right away. The people that made valve told me to drill 1/8 th hole into valve paddle (part that closes) then take a small pointed tool like ice pick and then work valve open to drain. don't drill all the way through valve but only outer part to reach actual slide.
