I used peel and stick thin vinyl tile. I didn't like the snap together or the sticky strip type wood look. We wanted a stone tile look and the ability to replace any that might be damaged without having to remove everything. These vinyl tiles can be installed with no spacing or with a grout joint and flexible grout. I prepped the wood with a latex primer so the tiles would stick better.
It's an older rig so it has a raised slide which was also tiled and I used aluminum cap strips on the edge. I did have a couple small pieces around the steps that didn't stick well so I glued them down with goop adhesive. Or rig doesn't see extreme cold
I installed a piece of 1/2 inch quarter round under the edge of the slide to hide the rollers that are showing.
