Just put them both on the same axle then rotate them front to rear periodically to even out the wear.
BTW the accepted practice on the tow vehicle is to put the best tires on the rear. When towing, you really lose stability if a rear tire is low whereas you can use steering to correct for the effect of a bad front tire. If you've ever had a back tire go down you'll readily agree with this.
