Replacing lower HappiJac bunk with Sofa or dinette

We have dual HappiJac bunks in our Talon. I'm looking into the feasibility of replacing the lower bunk with either a convertable sofa or more likely the dinette that converts to a bed. One issue we have is the lift legs on our system don't go all the way to the floor; they would need to be replaced with longer ones for it to work. Anyone done this mod?
Thanks!
  • We bought some queen sized air mattresses for the Happi Jac beds to make them more comfortable, and still be able to use the dinette in the back. The kids like to use that table to play games and occasionally eat dinner. I installed a 12 volt plug back in the garage (can't believe they didn't put one there) and we use a portable inflator to blow them up. When they are deflated, they stay flat on the top bunk for storage.

  • I think all the Voltage dinettes double as a bed. Ours has the table completely surrounded by the seating and getting to the back seats is a major pain so we don't use it much. I like the newer version that has isles down both sides of the table. We do use the bed nearly every trip out however.

I have the dinette in our voltage and the legs don't go to the floor either. The funny part is I'm taking mine out and making a bed frame instead. We tried eating back there a few times but wasn't worth it for us.

Doesn't the dinette double as a bed?
