FWIW,
I am using the Whirlpool Model WRT111SFDB in my 5er too and really like it. I hooked it up to a kill-o-watt meter and this thing literally SIPS power. It seems to be very efficient. I installed a PROSine 1000 Watt inverter to my 2 6v interstate batteries and it runs it just fine.

This is the exact fridge I just put in mine. two group 24 marine batteries will run it about 12 hours before voltage drops low enough to shut of inverter. - blofgrenExplorerVery nice! Thank you for detailed write up. I think this is the way I'll go as well when our current Norcold 10 cubic foot fridge goes out.
- NJRVerExplorerNice job! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

- ckwizard777ExplorerMine is installed in a slide so I have 2-vents in the wall that I sealed off with a piece of lexan and I just left a 1/2 gap at the top of the fridge for venting and it works very well.
You are correct the whirlpool sticks out about 2-inches further than your stock unit but it looks good and I gained more capacity and best of all my ice cream stays frozen :) - azrvingExplorer.
- 4x4FFExplorerFWIW,
