If you stay with that size and weight 5th, a dually would be better.
But....I'll second the motion about staying in parks vs. RV parks. I agree with going smaller to fit in more state and national parks. There's nothing more frustrating to me than having to stay in a commercial RV Park parking lot and then going into a park to fish or sightsee and realize if I had a smaller RV I could be "in there".
If you downsize and decide to go SRW watch those yellow payload stickers. My F350 SRW had a payload of 3267#, exactly the same equiped Ram is 4018#. Chevy was about halfway in between.
I pulled a Cougar XLite 5th with a GMC 2500 extended cab gasser shortbed for maybe a year. Go longbed.
