We full time, and tow our 36' Solitude with a 2500. I had to get helper springs, and better rated tires, but it is doable. If I were in the market for a new truck, I would look at a 3500 SRW with the 6 foot bed! All these recommendations for a dually, do they ever go to a mall, or sight seeing in a big City? If all you are going to do is pull the fifth wheel from place to place you will be fine, BUT if you are interested in getting out and seeing things you should consider a single rear wheel SRW truck! An 8 foot bed would be "nice", but I just can not remember the last time I needed an 8 foot bed! Again, most of these parking lots are designed around the "smart car" as far as lane widths and parking space size! It is a pain with the 2500, I would have to take up marathon running if I had a dually! I guess it comes down to what you plan to do after retirement, good luck!
