Ride quality of 3500 truck with light fifth wheel

Up north they take the outside wheel off a dually in winter.
OP get a air ride hitch if you are worried about stressing the trailer .Did the crash damage your hitch in any way?
If suspect, now is the time to buy your last hitch.
