riding... and boondocking off Highway 40 Kingman area?

Heading to grand canyon from Havasu... looking for a stop along the way with riding.. any suggestions? Boondocking would be nice, but not a requirement... 40foot motorhome...

  • Looked into pirates cove... Wow.. pricy. In addition to camping fees, They want $10 per atv per day... that's an extra $20 a day for us.. Not happening. An extra $140 if we stay a week? They indicated they might reduce it to $10 a day or.. just charge us when we ride. But don't care for driving out there and then not knowing exactly what the charge will be... So... nope - not going there.

Come on up to Meadview.Lots of riding here and you can go up to Grand Canyon West and see the Skywalk. It is close to us.

Used to be called Park Muabi but now its something different. On the River just north of Needles, CA side. Nice camping and trails/OHV area adjacent to the park. They advertise OHV friendly.

They call it Pirates Cove now. :/

Yep, that's it. Brochure sure makes it look/sound sexy.

It can be a pain to get there at times. If you're not right in the middle of the channel, prepare you outdrive to eat some sand. Scored my impeller housing. Thankfully there's a fix for that now. We stay WAY on the other end at Havasu Springs, so it's not our thing, but heard it can get rowdy in there.

When you heading out to Havasu? We're heading out Friday afternoon and the weather is supposed to be phenomenal!
  • Thought about that area, but can't find anything on riding out from camping area.
