We are getting close to home. We stopped in Albuquerque tonight and should make it to Tucson early tomorrow afternoon.
We spent quite a bit of time at the towing yard yesterday. We were able to save a few items from the basement of the FW.
I took a good look at the truck along with a ton of pictures. I was really surprised that the Transfer Flow replacement tank was still intact and didn't appear to be ruptured. Based on what Ginnie and I saw at the beginning of the fire, we think the original ignition was near the top of the engine. Several of us tried to spray extinguishers up into the engine from the wheel wells. It helped reduce the flames, but as soon as the extinguishers ran out, it would reignite up in the engine compartment.
The insurance company told me an investigation will try to pinpoint the cause. They said they'd let me know the outcome.
Ginnie and I have been chatting mile after mile about replacement vehicles. We are in no rush to jump into a rash decision, so we'll take our time and do it right.
Good to hear you'll still be with us...RVing :).
We'll be in Eloy again this year if you have the time to come up and visit...or we can come down.
