Roof vent leaks

I know this has been covered tons of times , but how can I stop a roof vent leak that looks like it has been sealed perfectly. I cannot see where any water could be getting in.
Do they make an adhesive diverter that would run some of the water around the vent ? Thank you. D
  • Ok , I inspected it really close and think i found two hairline cracks vertically in the plastic sidewalls of the vent.
It rained pretty good last night and no drips so im hoping i found them , thanks for your help. D
  • If the antenna is near it check the rubber boot around the cable. Dicor the boot to the cable. It will look tight but water will seep in.
  • Thank you all , man it just seems like I have it sealed ,
    but its getting in somewhere.
Man its really raining here in S. Tx. too !
  • I went around my roof vents with eternabond 4" tape. That pretty much covers it all.

  • Try cleaning the current sealant and applying a layer of Dicor over the current stuff making sure the new stuff also seals the edges (attaches to roof). Maintenance of roof vents, antennae and other "holes" in the roof is something you have to do periodically.
  • It might be possible that the leak is somewhere else close by, but runs over to the vent to come inside. Just a thought !!
