Rough start to the season!

Pulling the camper out this afternoon (it sits on a pad beside the house) and I dropped the right side tires off onto the yard. We've had a bunch of rain and the ground is soft. She sank about 9", almost to the axle. Had to use 4 low on the truck to pull it out and now I can look forward to fixing the 20' trench I made and repairing the sprinkler heads. Mama was freaking out, I think she thought we'd never get it out! Nobody's fault but my own. I'll bet I won't make that mistake again!

  • I think we have all had some sort of aw sh!#.... moment. I am glad you were able to get it put back on firm footing.
  • Things happen when you DO stuff and there is always a solution.
One day I drove to my spot in a C.G and sank into the grass, could get out only after the owner pulled me out with his tractor...
So we learn as we go...
  • Bad start might be better than no start :(

Feel yer pain tho...extra work for no good reason.
    That's generally how I roll.

The scary part was the the trailer ALMOST contacted the right side bed rail. If it had gone any deeper I'd have had damage. I'll crawl under it tomorrow and look things over.

The damage would be bad enough, but how would you unhitch if you were stuck! Glad it worked out for you.

  • Why is it that when you really need a 20' trench it's a lot harder to do?

Probably a good idea to look those wheels over to make sure you didn't tear something out or bend something up.
