Route 11 NY

Anyone pull across US route 11 in NY through Malone, Potsdam, Canton, Govenour to I 81 at watertown? Is it an easy drive, many obstacles or are there any short turns in towns? Pulling 40' 5ver through. Are there any truck stops or RV friendly fuel(diesel) places?
  • greened has it right. No low clearances as far as Canton from Watertown. Rt. 11 is an easy pull on country roads but no real truck stops. The gas stations are not overly large and that size RV could be tough in some. It is a pleasant drive, one we have been making almost every weekend since mid May. Canton has some construction at the moment. Canton is a far as we go - can't speak for Potsdam or Malone. Good luck, Mike
  • Yes, have done it alot. You should have no problems. No low clearances that I remember. Lots of stop & go but lots of open road as well. The closer to Watertown you get, you'll get into populated areas. Watertown is the home of the 10th Mountain Division of the US Army, a key in Iraq & Afghan wars so there will be more stop & go. Pretty country, you'll enjoy it.
