- hitchupExplorerWhen we stayed a week in Disney World a few years ago, we didn't get the food plan for the 3 of us (DH, GD & me, but our DS & DIL did for their family. There were too many to choose from and we had no idea when and where we'd be each day and it was too hard to keep track.
We ate most of our meals at our All-Star Resort cafeteria, but enjoyed the flexibility of eating at outside the park when visiting Universal & other places outside of Disney. We even got my BIL (a Disney employee) to pick up breakfast tab at one of the Resorts. And of course, we prepaid for Cinderella's Castle Lunch when we made reservations. popeyemth wrote:

Ditto. The high point of my first trip there was the first time my pooch saw an armadillo. The look on his face was priceless! He literally did a double-take, and then looked at me, look at 'dillo, look at me, dillo. His expression was like "what the H. E. double hockey sticks is THAT thing!"
The only bad experience we've had there was one trip a family & friends showed up for a weekend birthday party booze-fest, and didn't care who they annoyed or what time of night they annoyed them. I admit I called the main office and complained the first night they showed. I know security came by and got them to shut up. Next morning they pulled out. - GPG52_Explorer IIHi Barry 2010:
Definitely a bucket list item you will not regret.
We had the pleasure of a 1 week stay several years ago. Fort Wilderness is superb.
Due to scheduling issues we attended in July, knowing that it was going to be very hot we planned on visiting the park in the morning, coming back (via water shuttle) to the trailer around noon for lunch, some cool down time and a mid day siesta. Then back to the park late afternoon and evening.
We have been going back to Orlando on a regular basis because we love the area, kids are now grown up so we stay just outside the park at Tropical Palm RV Resort just off of Old Town. GPG - Ragin_CajunExplorer
