Hey fellow haulers,Do any of you run or can you run your generator while driving so you can run the air conditioning to cool off the tuna box before you reach your campsite? We tried it once but both shut off while driving. Just wondering if it works for anyone. We have a 2015 37.1 Fuzion.Thanks for any input.

We do this routinely on our shorter trips with our 2014 Fuzion. Doesn't hurt anything. But I would say there's a problem somewhere with yours for it to shut off, most likely starting at the generator.

We did it with our Raptor on hot days and we do it with our motorhome now.

We do it on most every trip. On shorter trips of 2-3 hours, we run it the entire time. On longer travel days, we run it the last 3 hours before we settle in for the evening. Sure is nice to open up a cooled off rig.

About having it quit on you, what wa your fuel level. generally the pickup for the gennie is above the pickup for the vehicle engine, so if you get low on gas, the gennie will not run out all of your gas. If you were getting low on fuel, that might be your problem.

If it is hot and we have been traveling most of the day we will start Genset about 1 hour before we get to where we are stopping to allow ac to cool TH...

A toy hauler generator will or should have priority for fuel level over the fuel station. But most haulers seem to have the fuel tank near the rear of the hauler and the generator up front, so some significant distance for the fuel line to run. That's a good distance for a fuel pump suck or push fuel to.

Knowing about the problems that have talked about over the years with fuel tanks and generators I can see some having a problem running while traveling.

As to the cause, wow, lots of things. Where is the fuel line pulling from, is sloshing fuel letting air get sucked into the line? Is there debris in the tank that's getting in the carb? Wouldn't take much for the carb to run dry and shut down. I have no idea how you trouble shoot that if the generator only shuts down while in motion.

I'm having the same issue with the generator shutting down while moving on my 2015 Fuzion 325.

The OP has has a toy hauler trailer, not a motorized vehicle, so the above problem description doesn't apply here.

I can do it with our Forest River Toyhauler, it has its own fuel cell.

Push button, start....AC on. Nice :)

We've never felt the need, but I have seen comments concerning airflow to the genny being disrupted during travel that might cause it to shut off when on the road. You may want to post the question on your brands forum and see if there are any specific coments or suggestions.
