Where do I look first...the running lights work but no brake or turn signals....lights work on truck but not trailer

Yup, with a truck that new you have likely blown a fuse.. I think there is one fuse for that, not a left and right fuse, but I have blown it before too. The real question is why did it blow, and that might take a lot more looking to figure out.
