Just be careful where you want to park it. A lot of older parks may not be set up for that size.

I've driven a couple of state camp grounds to check them out for future trips and I think I would have a tight time at 35'. Older state parks here in Utah can be tight. The sites may be spread out, but their pads may not be large enough or deep enough or have tree clearance.

Thats like asking, "I am getting rid of my Toyota Yaris & getting a Lincoln Town Car. Will I fit in the small car parking spots as easily?"

CG sites are available in all shapes & sizes. A class C will fit in most any site. A 40' anything will not. If you roll into a non site reservable CG & the few large sites are occupied, you are out of luck.

Simple physics. The larger you are, the fewer sites there are available to you.

We have a 42' toy hauler. We have found that prior planning saves plenty of unknown surprises. Google satellite maps is your friend. We have found that we have had to stop going to several smaller state/county parks that we could get into with our old 32 TT.

Don't forget that there are some ROADS where you might be restricted at that length. Not many, but they are out there.

Stayed in probably 30+ campgrounds in over 26 states the last couple of years. Fiver is 39'2".

Never had one that we couldn't stay at and had to continue down the road. But we have had some that the site they told us to go to was about big enough for a truck camper and not much more. Some CG's have RVers working their check-in desks and some have minimum wage folks that know nothing about RV's.

Bottom line is, check the site over yourself to determine if it will work for your rig. And no matter if the CG states they are "big rig" friendly or not watch for low hanging tree branches and wires while inside the CG driving to your site.

We got set up on a site in Wyoming last summer that looked wide open (no trees). It was a good thing I looked up prior to raising our Direct-TV dish on top of our rig because it would have hit a small power line.

Sometimes it isn't the length of your fiver but the height that can cause you problems in some of these CG's.

I've had my 39'11" fifth wheel since 2008 and have had no problems . There was one park we went to that I did not feel that the site was wide enough , so I talked to the front desk and they were happy to move me to another site...
IF I had to use that site , I would have done so , it was more of a width factor , and NOT a length factor... Just KNOW where you are going , and do homework.. ASK.... look for big rig capabilities...so on..

39' (bumper to pin) toy hauler. I've found a few campgrounds where I couldn't fit into the spot that they had labled as a 50+' spot. Had I made it in, plenty of room, but with signs, trees, drop offs, etc, just couldn't be done.
So far always been able to get into some spot at the CG, just not always the originally planned spot.

We have a 43ft toyhauler, have no problems getting around. As mentioned above, you have to think proactive of where you going and check it out. You have to make sure you can get out . I have asked camp site owners to trim tees back next to camp roads a day or so before leaving, they have always been happy to do it. The more you tow the more you know what you can do and cannot
do.with trailer So you learn where you can go and not
go driving in CG's My only difference with a toyhauler is to make sure I have enough room behind trailer to open cargo door when parked
