Jayco customer service at that time had a sterling reputation for dealing with any issues. One example is that, at the time, Jayco was using Todd Engineering power converters. Another example is that we had a Norcold refrigerator cooling unit fail on Memorial Day weekend, about 3 months after we purchased our 2000 Jayco. The dealer said that he couldn't work us in for 2 months. I called Jayco customer service and explained the situation, and the lady said "I'll call you back within a half hour." She did, and had worked us into a Norcold-approved independent repair facility that same day. 3 days later, we picked up the 5th wheel with a new cooling unit that had to be air-freighted in from Norcold.

Jayco always did right by me. Maybe that's changed - if it has, I'm saddened to hear it.

2006 Jayco Designer. Two year warranty. Never needed it (warranty) for anything. No complaints.

If you (OP - "laknox") want the ultimate *quality* 5th wheel, go to a New Horizons. The re-sale will be there when you go to part with it sometime in the future.

Other quality 5th wheel brands can be found by visiting the Escapees HDT (and MDT) forums.
Serious (*quality*) trailers towed by serious tow vehicles..;)

BTW - Escapees forums would be a good place (they have a for sale forum also) to watch for a slightly used 5th...:W

My parents are still alive and I have to split with my brother, so a NH is out of the picture. :-) Not my cuppa tea, anyway. I'm still pretty much a weekend warrior, which is why I'm looking at the Eagle HT and Durango 1500 lines. Both being considerably larger =and= lighter than my current Komfort, which is for sale BTW. :-) I'm just concerned that 2 supposedly reputable brands aren't taking care of some serious quality issues (found on another forum as well as here) or, in KZ's case, wanting to respond to a potential customer who is interested in their product. Again, it really seems to be the little stuff that frustrates people the most, especially when it's either inconvenient to get serviced at a dealer and they end up fixing what the mfr =should= be covering, themselves.
