Take a look at a Wartsila-Sulzer RTA96-C some time. The largest reciprocating engine in the world. The largest version is an in-line 14 cylinder with 38x98" cylinders, or > 111,000 cubic inches per cylinder. :-) This is what powers the Emma Maersk. It also happens to be the most efficient "production" internal combustion engine in the world.
