At this point in time, a 1/2t designation is merely a marketing tool to differentiate it from larger trucks. So, anyone who states they'd never use a 1/2t to pull, say, a 10,000lb FW is missing the big picture IMHO. Today's 1/2t trucks are, for the most part, the equivalent of a 3/4t truck.
