Emma Wood State Beach is right on the beach and doesn't accept reservations until May 15. You are right on the water. We have hosted there for 5 winter seasons. They would definitely have space on a Sunday night. You can also reach it by taking the 126 west to the 101 north, the exit is just as you come north out of Ventura, says "state beaches". The entrance is at the bottom of the hill, no hookups or amenities at all, just a beautiful view. You can ride your bike along the bike path back south to downtown Ventura, about 1 3/4 mile.
