RV Tire Recommendations

We are running the Goestar 574, so far very happy with them, they are built similar as the GY 614 and are around $100.00 less per tire

Will do. I have some long trips planned this summer so they will get a good workout in the heat. That should be telling.

BeerCan, keep us posted on your Sailun tires....I think they should be good quality tires, but only time will tell...your one of the "first" that will be able to keep us up on this "G" rated tire.

I will stay with GY G614's....I had one lose it's thread, but also had a sagging spring on that wheel well...replaced the spring pack when i replaced the tires....I WILL look at the Sailun tires when I next purchase tires for my 5er.....

Stick with the GY G tires I have had two sets and never even a flat. I just up graded to GY H and Alcoa 17.5" wheels. Talk to Scott at trailertiresandwheels.com have the tires shipped to you and have someone install. At least you can have some leverage with the local guys on pricing. He also has very fresh tires.

Just remember GY will pay for damages the others will not then you have a claim on your insurance!

Equal number of dissatisfied GY 614 users. (See Escapees forums).

Just a different "reminder" -
Down time -for repairs due to tire failures- is a bummer that shouldn't happen in the first place.

IMO - GY began paying for trailer damage due to tire user's litigation - and the desire to avoid same.

The best solution is to go to 17.5 wheels and tires.

Depending on what your potential down time is worth to you, the cost may be "offsetting".:@

We bought B F Goodrich ST230's load H at the recommendation of Pat at Pro Tire in Denton TX. They are made in America, owned by Michelin. We are very happy with them. Ride much better than the Toyo's that came on our Country Coach.

They've got to be better than Carlisle anyway! I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)
