safety tip when washing the roof

Our new fifth wheel has an arched roof which looks really nice but that arch makes it extremely dangerous when wet. After slipping and sliding for about twenty minutes this morning while scrubbing the roof I thought about putting some of the non skid shelf liner under my knees. Wow, the difference was incredible. I used two pieces about 12 inches square. By using two pieces, I could move one to a different location while still kneeling snugly on the other. I definitely will not be on the roof when it is wet without those pieces of shelf liner.

Good idea. I did my last slip sliding a couple of years ago. Now its an extension ladder on the sides.

  • Sorry - tried to post a great picture of some ice crampons that would work, but my picture posting skills are in need of an overhaul. So I deleted the original message.
  • Good idea but I guess I have some good sneakers cause they grip my rubber roof like suction cups when Im washing the roof.
